Satan Reviews- TV: Inhumans (Episodes 1,2&3)

AKA: Why I Think Everyone Hates Inhumans

Spoilers, obviously.

Quick Disclaimer: I don't actually hate Inhumans, it's just meh.

So this show definitely happened... With 8% on Rotten Tomatoes, this show certainly isn't popular. And after watching the first three episodes, these are my opinions on why Inhumans isn't great.

1) The Main Characters aren't sympathetic at all.

Most of them are actual arseholes? I know that characters have flaws or whatever, but aren't at least some of the cast meant to be likeable? Black Bolt lets everyone be a bitch to his brother and expects nothing bad to happen. Karnak treats the servants like shit and everyone is like, "ah, classic Karnak." And I have a feeling that none of the character development is going to address the characters actual flaws and more be about improving their powers or some bollocks.

2) The villain's goal seems reasonable???

I mean, obviously, murder isn't great. Neither is letting Cyclops The Destroyer Mordis out and about, apparently. But the moon Atalan had a very outdated system of power and labour distribution that made no sense and "humans" were treated poorly just for their variations in DNA because they were technically Inhumans, they just don't have powers.

3)Mordis.

Everyone was like, "oh no, he's a bad dude". But his power is legit just eye lasers or something. He just wants to not be locked up in a cupboard.

4) The people with weaker/ no powers are the ones doing manual labour that would be done much quicker by the Inhumans with physically strong powers and everyone thinks that this is fine and makes sense?????

5) The only character that bad things happen to is the fucking animated dog, who's the only character I care about and if Lockjaw dies/ comes to severe harm I will make sure the writers never know peace and snakes will manifest in their homes.

6) The character/costume design is ugh at best.

Crystal looks like a fucking Pokémon and I've been thinking about this for a long time. And most of the other outfits are naff too, but her design irks me the most. She's also ginger in the comics, which is just making me have some weird flash back to someone complaining on Twitter about ginger characters being made not ginger (read: they used black actresses instead of white actresses) but no one's complaining about this. Wow.

7) Medusa's hair

This was done so poorly that it deserved it's own section. The wig they used looked awful. It looked flat and sad. The fact was, it actually looked okay when animated but then they ruined that.
How can Medusa's hair be shaved off? It's meant to be really strong, but was defeated by a pair of clippers. Also, wouldn't shaving all her hair off hurt? For Medusa to be able to use her hair effectively, wouldn't she need to be able to feel with her hair? I honestly have no idea how this works and I don't want to be looking up the piece of fiction with a character that has feeling in his hair.

8)Why do the Inhumans speak English?

They've been on the moon for ages, and surely, they all originally came from different parts of the world, so wouldn't the languages end up merging or something?

I think that's it. For now.

Part Two: Here.
