I hated this book.
HATED IT. I couldn't bring myself to finish this god awful book. I want to burn it.

There was nothing wrong with the writing, in fact, I could say that it was quite well written. It's just the story and the characters.

Allie Sheridan is one of the female protagonist stereotypes because she's not like other girls and is always "picked on" by a "popular bitch" stereotype. Because we need at least one if the story takes places in a school.
For some reason Allie was going to school during the summer holidays, which is weird considering that summer school isn't that common in England. It's even weirder considering that this school doesn't work like other English schools and never mentions Allie's GCSE's or A Levels because that's the educational stage she's at. But whatever. I also doubt that any school would run the same way as Cimmeria, because it is run like an American school, in England.

I know I'm not a fan of love triangles and that I HATE THEM, so I'm a little biased on the whole romantic interests thing but both boys in this were pieces of shit, I mean Sylvain tried to rape Allie and Carter blamed her for it because she "didn't listen to him" after he belittled, stalked and insulted her so she didn't trust himthey were absolute charmers.

I only liked two of the characters in this books: Jo and the head teacher because they acted like human being who had emotions and empathy, although it wouldn't surprised if Isabelle was a sociopath, and some sort of personality. Everyone else was ugh. The love interests were just no. I question the parenting methods of Allie's mum and dad: "Our daughter is acting out because her brother disappeared, leaving a rude af note so what she probably needs is love and compassion and to be with her family... Let's send her away to boarding school! Genius!" And not to mention her friends from London, who aren't really mentioned after page 100 or something great friendship that. I also didn't feel anything when Ruth I think it was her, Idek tbh had her throat slit by an unknown to me attacker because we weren't given enough about her to care about.

I don't see how this book is paranormal. We probably see later- after halfway through the book. Some people have put it under vampire.... Where???? Unless that what Nathaniel???? was.

In conclusion, this book was a waste of time and ruined my goal of not leaving books half way through.

If I could give this book no stars, I would. So I gave it 1 out of 5 stars.
